Artist's Note

blueperiod is a series of works in in oil and gold leaf, painted in the summer of 2017 at the Ora Lerman Soaring Gardens Artists Retreat in Laceyville, PA.

The monochromaticism allowed for deeper exploration of gesture, tone, motif, and texture.

It also served as a simple homage to Picasso and Miró.
